GENERAL SUMMARY

Duty First Consulting (DFC) seeks a Consultant to develop and deliver client products, such as planning documentation, project management artifacts, analysis, and recommendations. Additionally, the consultant will ensure delivery of other project documentation as needed. This position will be in direct contact with the client on a regular basis and will need a person with strong client relationship skills as well as the ability to be an innovative, collaborative problem-solver.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Independently utilize MS office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) to create, manipulate, and improve documentation
  • Conduct data gathering and analysis with minimal supervision
  • Apply consulting and management skills
  • Meet project goals, training objectives, and quality standards with minimal supervision
  • Follow Federal and project guidelines and conform to specific style guides for all deliverables
  • Conduct in-person and virtual meetings with clients and subject matter experts
  • Work with subject matter experts and the team to identify project goals and opportunities for improvement
  • Direct personal development by actively identifying new areas for professional development
  • Regularly attend learning opportunities and apply newly gained knowledge and skills on the job

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years of government consulting or related experience
  • 1+ years of data collection and analysis is a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and teaming partners; excellent client relationship management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong critical thinking
  • Ability to think and act quickly and appropriately on-the-fly
  • Exceptional writing, grammar, and punctuation skills
  • Ability to work on multiple activities simultaneously and meet deadlines (project management and time management skills)
  • Knowledge of federal proposal process is a plus
  • Experience with delivering professional services to the federal government is preferred
  • Experience with the Department of Housing and Urban Development is a plus
  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in the US for any employer as sponsorship is not available for this position
  • Ability to obtain a US government security clearance is required
  • Preference will be given to qualified Veteran candidates

 REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences, technical field, or related fields
