GENERAL SUMMARY

Duty First Consulting is seeking a Junior Business Analyst to join an operations support contract in the federal healthcare consulting industry. The team is seeking driven individuals with excellent critical thinking skills and high attention to detail who have a desire to learn complex federal healthcare policy and technical operations, enjoy working in a fast-paced and regularly changing environment, and can effectively manage competing priorities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Learn and assess the implications of complex healthcare policy and systems requirements on operations.
  • Employ strong conceptual and written communication skills to effectively and professionally engage with all project stakeholders.
  • Provide quality assurance and analytical support for systems development projects.
  • Assist team members with testing and analysis.
  • Draft briefings, reports, and other deliverables for clients that are high-quality and error-free.
  • Support user sessions including creating agendas and timelines and taking meeting notes and action items.
  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions and evaluate design and requirements documentation for completeness, accuracy, and usability.
  • Work closely with development teams to resolve issues identified when testing system functionality.
  • Support continuous efforts across the program to enhance efficiency and pinpoint process improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • 1-3 years of professional working experience (can include a professional internship).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to exercise strong attention to detail, as well as problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with a team throughout the system development life cycle.
  • Ability to produce consistent, insightful, high-quality work against tight deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate analysis and recommendations in oral presentations or written documents.
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into plain-language appropriate for various target audiences.
  • Ability to review and quickly grasp federal policy, standards, and mandate documents and develop corresponding analysis and recommendations.  
  • Self-directed; ability to work on tasks requiring analysis, writing, and planning activities with limited guidance or oversight.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team, contributing positively to team operations and working relationships.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience working with federal government projects is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a US government security clearance.
  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in the US for any employer; sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Preference will be given to qualified Veteran candidates.

  • Bachelor's degree required
